The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the official government authority authorized to issue 12-digit unique Aadhaar identification numbers, recently introduced the Aadhaar card in a completely new way. This new service enables Aadhaar subscribers to obtain a patent card supported by PVC- or polyvinyl chloride. The size of the new PVC Aadhaar card is that of an ATM or bank debit card size that can be easily carried in pockets or bags.
